24.06.11  There and back (and there and back again)

What and eventful spring for us! In early May we flew out to Corner brook, Newfoundland to be the guest artists for Festival 500 - Western Region. It was an amazing weekend as we put on two concerts and a workshop for young singers and adult choristers taking part in the festival, and got to enjoy, once again, the friendly atmosphere of a Newfoundland. A quick hello Bethany Hoffe, our chaperone/liaison extraordinaire!! It was an awesome opportunity to be the featured group at the festival, and quite stunning to think that we took part in the very same festival not even 2 years earlier. In all honesty, we couldn’t have been happier with the hospitality shown by all. The day before we arrived our hotel actually burned down! But the organizers found us a wonderful place to stay in the nick of time. We also had to opportunity to meet Scott Leithead who is the conductor of the Alberta choir, Kokopelli, but who was acting as a clinician during the festival. His warmth and spirit was inspiring, and we are thrilled that he will also be at Festival 500 in St. John’s when we return this July. There are so many things we are also looking forward to – the food, seeing our billets Karen and Steve, the music, and so much more. Of particular note, we will finally have the opportunity to meet our Swedish friends, Vocado, over what will be many dinners and rehearsals. With a concert recently at the Wolf Hall in London, it has certainly been a busy spring and we wish you a wonderful beginning to summer.

Catch you on the flip side,

Ryan
